After reading the beautiful poems in Paul de Pierres publication "Jottings and Fragments" Carmel was particularly moved by the words of Anzac Cove and Farmer's Farewell. She enjoyed the process of arranging them to music and finally recording them. Paul had visited Gallipolli in 1997 and wrote the poem Anzac Cove after the Anazac Day Service. Carmel and Paul grew up on neighbouring wheat farms south of Wyalkatchem Western Australia.
